What building a business is like...

I just added a short article at my SBI! Blog called "Building a business is just like parenting".

I must add that a lot of netrepreneur wannabes just think of the "money" first and foremost and not the sweat and tears that should come at the initial stage of starting/building a business.

Although there are "get rich quick" tactics that will enable you to see the money first without much sweat and tears, these type of businesses, I don't even classify them as business as they normally don't last long, and will get give you a bad name.

The no. 1 philosophy of SiteSell in my opinion is..., the Tortoise Way, and that should be the only way you should look at building/starting a business.

Anything less than the Tortoise Way is basically the Con Artist Way of GRQ even if you did not intend it to be at the start.

Most successful business started slowly, with a lot of sweat and tears, and then, prosper in the medium to long run with patience and perseverance - very much like parenting.

SEO Tip 6: Text Link

As the Search Engines get smarter, Search Engine Optimization should also take into account the "in-context" text link within your web page. It may not be a "must" strategy, but it will help to score a few more points with the spiders/robots. Every little help is needed to boost your Search Engine Results Placement (SERP).

The following are some recommendations from SiteSell:

  • Include a keyword in a link (note: apparently, adding your keyword near your other links also helps a bit)
  • Include your Specific Keyword in a text link once or twice, but not more
  • Use "in-context" text links to direct your visitors from your Tier 1 page to your Tier 2 pages
  • Use "in-context" text links to lead your visitors from your Tier 2 pages to your Tier 3 pages
  • Use "in-context" text links to refer/recommend your visitors from your Tier 3 pages to your affiliate pages.
Note: For those who may not know about the various Tiers in building a web site and the need to create Keyword-Focused Content Pages (KFCP), please refer to a previous posting "Think Pyramid" for more information.
